Bluehost which is one of the popular choice for WordPress hosting and famous for only one shared hosting package, is adding more values and services for it’s customer. Until now, Bluehost used to offer shared hosting and as an addon you can add Bluehost Pro services and reseller hosting. Indeed, I had a good experience with Bluehost so far and one of my client site which is hosted on Bluehost is holding up to 20000/pv day without any down-time.

Now, Bluehost is going to launch VPS and dedicated server and they have not announced the price or name of the plans yet. Though, they have added what configuration they will be offering with their VPS and dedicated server.
Bluehost VPS plan:
Bluehost Private servers will come in 3 plans and as follows:
Level 1:
- 2 CPU cores
- 2 GB RAM
- 30 GB Storage
- 1 Dedicated IP
Level 2:
- 3 CPU cores
- 3 GB RAM
- 60 GB Storage
- 2 Dedicated IP
Level 3:
- 4 CPU cores
- 4 GB RAM
- 120 GB Storage
- 2 Dedicated IP
Though pricing for Bluehost VPS plans are not out and we will update you about it, as soon as they reveal the pricing.
Bluehost Dedicated Hosting plan:
Like VPS, Bluehost dedicated hosting comes in 3 different plans and as follows:
Level 1:
- 2 CPU cores (2.8 GHz)
- 3 MB cache
- 4 GB RAM
- 2 x 500 GB Storage
Level 2:
- 4 CPU cores (3.2 GHz)
- 8 MB cache
- 8 GB RAM
- 2 x 1000 GB Storage
Level 3:
- 4 CPU cores (3.7 GHz)
- 8 MB cache
- 16 GB RAM
- 2 x 1000 GB Storage
Indeed, their dedicated hosting configuration looks rock solid and I’m hoping like all their close competitor like Knownhost, Hostgator they will be offering managed VPS and managed dedicated hosting.
This is a good step by Bluehost as they used to offer shared hosting packages only and after a while, a big site requires VPS or dedicated hosting for sustainability. The closest competitor to Bluehost VPS and dedicated hosting would be Hostgator and pricing here will make a huge difference. Also, existing Bluehost customers will be able to upgrade to their VPS or dedicated plans for free and with their automated migration service. There is no exact date for the launch of their VPS and dedicated hosting, but I expect it to be launch within first quarter of 2013. If you are not an existing Bluehost customer, you can reserve a hosting package now and once they launches it, you will be getting 40% discount on new pricing.
