Bob Parsons the mastermind behind Godaddy which is one the the biggest domain registrar seems like hurt his company brand with his video surfacing on Internet. Bob was filmed in a video where he went on Elephant hunting and the video brought lots of reaction from people around the globe.
Bob himself posted the video on his blog and Godaddy competitor NameCheap are taking advantage of this opportunity by offering special discount for Godaddy customers to move domain to them.
Peta already closed their account with Godaddy and also encouraging other users to do so and ask Bob parsons to stop killing innocent animals.
Here is the Bob Parsons video where he was killing Elephant:
Though Bob Parsons is trying to justify this by saying that he served the elephant to local and hungry people and actually helped them.
Here is his official statement on killing the elephant:
I kind of figured that this [backlash] might happen. So be it, I’m not ashamed of what I did. All these people that are complaining that this shouldn’t happen, that these people who are starving to death otherwise shouldn’t eat these elephants, you probably see them driving through at McDonald’s or cutting a steak. These people [Zimbabwe villagers] don’t have that option…The people there have very little, many die each year from starvation and one of the problems they have is the elephants, of which there are thousands and thousands, that trash many of their fields destroying the crops.
Well for now seems like Godaddy competitor will take advantage of this controversy. Do let us know if this news makes any different for you? Is Bob action justified and are you going to continue with Godaddy or you going to move to Name Cheap?
